5 Burning Questions About Body Painting ANSWERED!

It’s not every day your average Joe or Jane gets body painted. So naturally there are questions — about the process, about the price, about the materials, etc. We at Skin City are happy to lift the veil of mystery and answer the burning questions we get all the time from our clients.

1. How much does it cost?

The cost of body painting has many variables — including the amount of time, detail and materials needed for any given job. Prices at Skin City can range from $100 to $1000. Our prices reflect the high quality of professional materials we use. On a fixed budget? Let us know how much you have to spend and we’ll come up with a creative solution that fits within your budget. Multiple model, agency, and package deal discounts are available. Once we get you a price quote, we will need a deposit of 1/2 to hold your time. This is payable by cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. The balance is due on the day of the painting. Please fill out our CONTACT FORM to receive a quote.

2. Will the paint rub off?

Skin City uses cinema-quality, professional body paint that won’t flake, crack, rub off, or smear. It only takes a few minutes to dry, and once dry, you can touch it, hug people, and even throw on light, soft clothing over it.

3. How long does the paint stay on?

If you follow our directions and your skin is free of lotion or oil, the paint should last all day/night. However, all skin types are different, and the paint does need to be treated with relative care.

4. What design should I get?

You can start by looking through the Skin City galleries of photos for inspiration, or do an image search online. You can upload reference pictures of body paint you like on our Contact Form. Or you can describe for us what you want, and we’ll try to replicate it. Although we can copy designs from pictures, we prefer to custom-make a unique design for every job. Still not sure? Let us know the theme of your event, your company colors and/or logo, your favorite color, things you like, etc., and we can help you brainstorm or design it all for you.

5. What do I need to do on the day of body painting?

Ladies come with shaved skin, men with trimmed body hair, and NO OIL OR LOTION on your body. This is very important as it will affect the paint’s adhesion!
